We read everything that arrives here. Corrections are the messages we care about most — if you can show that something we published is wrong, we would rather hear it from you than leave it standing.
If someone is unwell right now, do not email us
We are a publication, not a clinical service. Nobody monitors this inbox overnight, and we cannot assess symptoms, advise on treatment, or tell anyone whether they should go to hospital.
Call your local emergency number — 112 in the EU, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US and Canada, 000 in Australia — if there is fainting, chest pain, confusion, a very slow pulse, or difficulty breathing.
Contact your national poison centre for any suspected honey-related exposure, even a mild one. They take calls around the clock and they are free. Tell them it may be grayanotoxin exposure from rhododendron honey — that phrase gets you to the right protocol faster.
Three things we will not answer
“How much should I take?” We do not publish doses, spoon counts, gram figures or millilitre figures anywhere on this site, and we will not send them privately either. Grayanotoxin content varies by more than an order of magnitude between batches from the same hillside in the same season, so a number that was harmless in one jar can be a hospital visit in the next. A figure from us would look authoritative and be meaningless. That refusal is editorial policy, not caution theatre.
“Is it safe for me, given my condition?” That is personalised medical advice and it needs someone who can see your notes. Bring our articles to a clinician; do not substitute them for one.
“Where do I buy it, which brand is good?” We name no sellers, no shops, no marketplaces and no brands, we take no commission, and we do not maintain a private list either.
